Just got back from a drive around downtown West Richland, where a lot of people are stopping their cars, finding places to park, and looking at the rising tide of the Yakima River.
As you drive along Van Giesen, there are lots of pastures and meadows that are flooded, but the water level when I was there was still a couple feet below the street. There was a lot of flooding across Jones Rd. and right into the yards of several local farmers where the horses and cows were, for the most part, going on about their business like nothing was happening.
