William Wiley Elementary School

Wiley had their annual open house tonight, and with two kids attending and Cari on the PTO board, the McGees were all over this event. This is one of those things that I never really look forward to, but always seem to have a good time when I’m there. It’s good to see neighbors, parents of your kids’ friends, your kids’ teachers, etc. And both of our kids seem to enjoy showing off their school work, which is a big part of the festivities — you go see their classroom, meet the teacher (again), and see what they’ve been working on for the first 2-3 weeks of classes.

We also got to hear the Wiley Steel Drum Band do a little performance in the gym, and got to fight the throngs of people jammed into the school library for the Book Fair. You couldn’t move more than a couple feet without someone else blocking your path.
