Starting next Monday, the council will be hosting Town Hall meetings at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of every month. The first one is set for next week — January 12 — in the council chambers on Van Giesen St.
The new meetings replace the old public comment period during regular council meetings, which worked like an open forum of sorts where citizens could talk about whatever was on their minds. Moving forward, public comment during council meetings will be limited to items on the meeting agenda, and these Town Halls will be for open discussion.
Sounds like a good plan to me….
