There’s No Home Depot in West Richland
Posted by Matt McGee under West Richland Life
Dear Tri-City Herald,
Two times in the past week or two, I’ve seen you mention that something happened, or is going to happen, at the Home Depot in West Richland. The most recent was about a safety event happening this Saturday:

As much as I wish that were true (think of the sales tax revenue we’d get!), there’s no Home Depot in West Richland. You have the street address correct, but Duportail Street belongs to the City of Richland. (They’re even trying to add a bridge to it.)
Because I’m a big believer in constructive criticism, I’d like to offer this helpful map:

My drawing of the city line might be a few yards off here or there, but you get the general idea. As you can see, the Home Depot is actually in Richland. If I can be of any further service with local geography, please don’t hesitate to ask. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I’ll be glad to do some research as needed.
Kind regards,
Matt McGee, occasional Richland Home Depot shopper (since they took away our DO IT BEST hardware store in West Richland a few years ago)
