I’ve been going to the new Club 24 Express Fitness for a couple weeks now — since it first opened, actually. Nice facility, staff is nice, never too crowded, etc. Very happy with everything, except this: the view from the treadmills. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to stare at a grocery [...]
Why I Love West Richland
by Matt McGee on January 9, 2010 in West Richland Life
I just published something on my personal blog that explains why I love where we live. Not sure why I put it there instead of here, but oh well. If you’re a fellow West Richlander, you might appreciate it.
Snowing in West Richland
by Matt McGee on December 12, 2009 in West Richland Life, West Richland Sights
The first snow of the year has arrived in West Richland! Here are a couple photos taken on Bird Hill right at/near the South Highlands Community Park. Can’t really see it falling, but you can see it starting to cover the streets. The National Weather Service says 1-3 inches are possible by tomorrow morning.
West Richland Crime Map now online
by Matt McGee on December 8, 2009 in West Richland Life, where:99353
“We don’t have much crime” is always one of the first things I say to people who ask what I love about West Richland and why we’ve decided to settle here. And I’ve seen some reports (and blogged about them) that tell how low West Richland’s crime rate is. Now, the West Richland Police Dept. [...]
KEPR-TV reports on West Richland growth
by Matt McGee on October 14, 2009 in West Richland Life, West Richland News
KEPR-TV ran an interesting news report last night on West Richland’s growth — and how sales tax revenues are still lagging behind other sources. I think “poised for growth” is probably the best phrase to use. We’ve seen a lot of growth in recent years, including the new Bird Hill retail development, but city officials [...]

by Matt McGee on July 13, 2009 in West Richland Life
Do you have any guesses what our current population is here in West Richland? The official numbers won’t come out, of course, until after the 2010 census is taken, but the Washington Office of Financial Management published it’s official estimates earlier this year. And the results? Estimated West Richland Population in 2009: 11,670 You can [...]

- Tri-City Homes Hit Their Highest Average Sales Price in 2011 February 1, 2012What an interesting year! No federal tax credit, record-low interest rates, and a booming Tri-Cities economy combine to create an fascinating picture. Two seemingly disparate facts tell the 2011 Tri-Cities real estate story. #1 – Total sales for the year – 2,734, which is the second lowest total within the last ten years. (The lowest […]
- Final Friday Photo January 27, 2012I can’t believe it – I’ve been posting Friday Photos for a year now! I hope you enjoyed trying to figure things out from a different perspective. I will still […]
- Building Our New Home, Part 8 January 23, 2012My husband, Matt, and I are building our new home. This is the eighth in a series of who-knows-how-many. I’m writing from the perspective of a buyer, and an agent, since I am both in this case. We had two important walk-throughs last week and the week before. On the 11th, we met with the […]
