Yakima River Flood Warning Issued
Benton County Emergency Services has issued a flood warning today for West Richland residents living along the Yakima River:
Water levels on the Yakima Rivers are on the rise as a result of heavy rains in the Cascades. The water in the Yakima could rise as much as five feet in the next 48 hours. [...]

Sometimes I Don’t Understand My Neighbors
Like on election day, when we decided we’d rather not have a local ambulance service that can provide quicker response and maybe save lives, all at a virtually non-existent personal cost.

West Richland Water Rates Going Up
West Richland’s city council voted this week to hike our storm water rates so the city can afford to meet federal standards. That $2.80/month fee on your residential utility bill will jump to $3.40 next year, $4.10 in 2010, and up 30 cents each year after until 2013.

EMS Service in West Richland? I’ll Be Voting YES
The ballots have arrived at Casa McGee, but we haven’t even opened them up yet. Maybe tomorrow. I’m still undecided on a few positions, but one thing I know I’ll be voting for is the levy and bond to add EMS services here in West Richland.

West Richland Crime Rate: Super Low
I bet if you asked 100 West Richlanders why they live here, very high on everyone’s list would be the safety factor. We all feel that West Richland is a great place to live and raise a family because there’s so little crime.
