Would’ve liked to attend last week’s chamber event, but other plans prevented that. In lieu of a first-hand report, here’s a list of the awards given out last Friday:
Outstanding Educator – Doug Lane

Outstanding Police Officer – Duane Olsen

New Law Makes West Richland $15k Richer
by Matt McGee on January 28, 2009 in West Richland News, where:99353
Did you know? If you go to Spokane and purchase an HDTV, and have it delivered to your home in West Richland, the sales tax you pay goes to West Richland, not to Spokane. How freakin’ cool is that?!? Seems to me that for a smaller city like ours, where retail shopping opportunities are less [...]

by Matt McGee on January 11, 2009 in West Richland News, where:99353
BCES has posted an amazing collection of aerial photos from the Yakima River flooding, which includes the shot at right of Van Giesen & Kingston Rd. I was out and about on Saturday at around 2-3 pm, and the water wasn’t nearly this high. It must’ve risen a good 3 feet after I called it [...]

James has good news for some veterans among my readership… Most home buyers who were under contract by April 30 have from June 30th to September 30th to close on their home in order to get the $6,500-$8,000 federal tax credit. - Tri-Cities Real Estate Market: June Stats (very late!) August 2, 2010Take a look at June’s stats for the Tri-Cities real estate market. You’ll see a marked uptick for real estate business that month. Remember, May showed a precipitous decline in homes under contract, because the tax credit expired April 30th. June CLOSINGS were phenomenal because until Congress extended the closing deadline, all of those deals [...] […]
- The Magic of Home July 22, 2010There is magic in that little world, home: it is a mystic circle that surrounds comforts and virtues never known beyond its hallowed limits. – Robert Southey, poet Last week my brother gave me a DVD of converted 16mm film home movies shot in the 40′s, 50′s and 60′s. There were a lot of people [...] […]
